SR&ED (sometimes pronounced “Sred” or “Shred”) is an abbreviation of Scientific Research & Experimental Development. The Canadian Government’s SR&ED program provides investment tax credits to companies and individuals who conduct research and development. The SR&ED program pays out over $4 billion annually to Canada’s innovators. It is the largest single source of federal government support for Canadian companies conducting research and development.
